THE HOUSE IS LOOKING GREAT!!
All of the drywall is hung and the taping and sanding has begun.  The next step is the painting.

The elevator shaft is drywalled and taped.  A real fun job.  The elevator is supposed to begin being  installed  on Dec. 20th.

The fireplace in the living room with the stone being applied.  It will be finished after the finish work is done on cabinets and the crown molding installed.

Adding the grout on the driveway side porch.

The only thing left to do is paint the columns, stain the ceiling, and the railings are being put up this week.  The blue is a tarp enclosing the porch so heat can be applied to dry the mortar.

The stone on the screened porch fireplace is being applied.

The drywall makes the place look different.

The insulation is installed until the drywall is completed and they can blow in more for the attic.  The metal strips are called sound channels.  They dampen the sound between floors. (Something new.)
The sills are installed at the top of the stonework.  This is the door from the kitchen.  More work to be done for the stairs and landscaping.
The screened porch is looking great.  The stonework for the inside of the fireplace still has to be done.  This is going to be a great place to relax.
The stones for the floor of the beach side porch have been cut and laid out waiting to be installed.

The sills at the top of the stones for the screened porch is being installed.  You can see the mortar between the stones before it is smoothed out.

This is just some of the duct work for the geothermal system.  A lot of planning went into this project.

The house is looking better all the time.  The drywall will start to be installed tommorrow.  That will take about a month to complete.  The build is ahead of schedule so far.  You never know what will happen next.  I will try to keep you updated of the progress.

The beach side porch is going to be a great place to watch the sunsets.

This is the wiring for the security/audio/video and smart house system. It is good that I don't have to remember what goes where.

The fireplace for the screened porch is starting to take shape.

This is the electrical wiring going into the house.

The ceiling for the screened porch is started.  The ash looks really good.

The stonework looks great.  There are a lot of stones.

This patio area should be nice in the future.

It is looking great!
The house is going well.  We are on schedule, (so far), and everything is looking great.  As you can see in the pictures the stone work is going well and looks great with the siding.  I am looking forward to the years of fun with everyone at this house.

The progress is going well. The stone work is looking awsome with the siding.  The electric, audio, video heating and plumbing is going well.

LOOKING GOOD!

The house is still on schedule and possibly ahead of schedule.  The siding looks real good and is complete on the north side of the house. You can see that the mason is working on the fireplaces.
The fireplace in the living room is roughed in and the roof should be finished around the chimney area so the shingles can be finished. It sure looks tall. Looking forward to seeing it with the finish stone on it.

The fluid for the geothermal system has been delivered, (Big plastic container), and the lines have been filled and connected to the furnaces.
The plumbing and the heating ducts have been started. There is a lot of both to do. (Notice the metal plates in front of the water lines and drains so that nails won't go into them when drywall is put up.)

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

The finish work is starting.  The siding is started and sure makes the house look nice.  The fireplace is coming along, and all the framing should be done this week.  The geothermal furnaces have been delivered and sitting in the mechanical room to be hooked ub.  The duct work is started and the electrical walk through is this Friday.  Here are some of the new photos.

Delivery of the Geothermal Units.
Cedar Shingle siding being installed.
The base trim with crown molding looks great. The wall vent goes well with trim.

The fireplace in the Living Room is starting to look like a fireplace.
The geothermal units and the water pressure tank are installed into the mechanical room.

I hope to have more pictures of progress of the house build soon.

The roof is almost finished and most of the windows are installed.
The Screened in Porch is started.
The balcony deck has been built.

The walls on the lower level are being installed.

The fireplace in the basement is started.

As you can see, the house build is going well.  I will put the pictures into the blog entry from now on and hopefully things will be easier for viewing.  It is always fun to learn about technology.

Change in the design of the blog!

Due to technical limitations, the new pictures will be posted below the blog entry in the order of new to old.  If this is a problem with reading the blog, let me know.  I will think of something else to do with the design.
IT'S STARTING TO LOOK LIKE A HOUSE!

It seems like it was just yesterday when we cleared the trees.  The build is still on schedule and is looking more like a house.  Most of the roof sheeting is finished and most of the sealing has been put on it.  The mechanicals, (Heating ducts and connections for the geothermal system), will be installed soon.  The soffits and the facia has been started.  I have added more pictures and will keep you informed about any progress.

Progress is still on schedule.

The house is starting to look more like a house all the time.  The roof trusses have been put into place and there should be sheeting on all of the roof in one week.  (Weather permitting)  This means that all the support boards can be removed from inside and there won't be a maze of boards to walk through anymore. All the geothermal wells are drilled and connected.  The construction driveway is in, and the cars won't have to jump into the garage anymore.  Over all, the build is going well.  I have added more pictures and more will be coming as things progress.

The Progress on the house is going well!

It is after the 4th of July and the house is fairly close to being on schedule.  The second floor of the garage has been walled and ready for the trusses.  The temporary stairs are in place.  The roof trusses have been placed on the driveway side porch and the water side porch roof mostly.  (no shingles)
The geothermal wells are drilled and the back fill will be brought in soon.  The trusses are ordered and should be here soon.
I have added a couple more pictures to bring things up to date and will continue to add them as progress continues.

GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM WELLS DRILLED
The build is still going well.  The interior and exterior walls on both the first and second floors are in place.  The concrete is poured for all the porches and garage.  The walls for the garage have begun.  The wells for the Geothermal System are being drilled.  The house is looking good and I hope you enjoy the pictures of the progress.

IT LOOKS MORE LIKE A HOUSE!

The progress on the house has been going well.  All of the foundation is finished and the first floor is mostly roughed in.  The floor joists for the second floor has been put in place along with the deck.  Some of the outside walls for the second floor are in place.  The view from the second floor is great.  The garage floor has been poured along with the support beams for the garage.  The drains for the garage and the screened in porch are all set.  As the build continues it is more exciting to think of the fun that we will all have there over the years to come.  I have posted some more pictures of the build.  I hope that you will enjoy watching the build.  The geothermal wells are to be put in next week.  It should be interesting to see how this is done.

More Progress Has Been Made!

The foundations for the main house area and the garage have been finished.  There was a blow out of some blocks on one of the columns for the front porch when they were filled with concrete.  This has been repaired with no real problems.  Things have been going well.  The concrete for the base of the front porch has been poured, and the view from it will be great.  The joists for the first floor are in, and the plywood has
been laid.
I have added some more pictures and I hope you enjoy seeing the progress and some of the cool equipment that has been used.

The house is coming along well!
The foundation for the main part of the house is almost finished and work is beginning on the garage and porches.  They have started to back fill and will soon be putting the floor for the first floor down.
I have added some pictures and I hope you enjoy the progress so far.  I will try to keep you informed.

THE FOUNDATION IS STARTED

The site has been dried out and the first set of footings poured.  A drainage system has been installed under the entire building.  The blocks of the foundation are going up and you can see the outline of the main part of the building.  More photos will be posted as the building progresses.

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

The last of the drain pipe is put in place.  The digging begins April 27th for the foundation.  The start of the house finally will begin.

Saturday, April 24, 2010

The drainage system is being put in place.  This is the pipe that is placed 7 feet down to keep the water from going into the basement.  It should take about 1 week to finish putting the drain into place and then maybe a week to get the water out.  Then we can get back on course with the build.  I will continue to post pictures and possibly some video.

GOOD NEWS!
The engineer felt that the a drainage system to dry out the site would be very successfull.  We are able to have the basement and no changes in the plans due to the water level.
Hopefully, we will be putting in the drainage system next week.
I will attempt to keep everyone aware of the happenings during this fun adventure.
The docks and hoists have been put in with two extra sections to get ready for a fun filled summer while the build continues.

Delay due to water level.

There has been a delay in the building process.  We have struck water at 4 feet and have to try and figure out if we can have a basement.  Apparently when we tested for water level originally, it was during the dry part of the year.  We are waiting for a geological engineer to come and hopefully figure a way to move the water.  We will keep you up to date on the process.
